The controversy surrounding Manchester United's Ryan Giggs took a new low on Sunday when his brothers wife, with whom the footballer had an eight-year affair, claimed that she had aborted his lovechild weeks before marrying his brother Rhodri.
British press went into a tizzy after Natasha Giggs told News of the World that she was categorically told by Ryan to abort the child and that there was no other option for her. "You have one option - termination. We cannot ruin everyone's life," Natasha quoted Ryan as saying.
Almost simultaneously, Mail Online reported that Natasha had been paid 500 pounds to cover the expenses for the abortion by Ryan. In the interview to News of the World though, Ryan's 28-year-old sister-in-law said that it was a tormenting experience to go through the procedure. "I could not have married Rhodri while I was still pregnant. It was horrendous (nonetheless) to go through the termination."
