William Hill declared Ulrika’s victory “the biggest shock in reality TV history”.

Ulrika Jonsson, not Verne Troyer, is crowned Celebrity Big Brother 2009’s winner. The former weathergirl beat TV presenter Terry Christian to the top spot. When the result was announced, she said: “Oh my God, that’s bonkers,” before leaving the house to fireworks and confetti.Despite taking 56.7% of the final vote between her and Terry Christian, she could not avoid the inevitable boos which have come to accompany the exit of every housemate. Terry was second with 43.3%. In third place was US rapper Coolio (25.3% at the time of the third reading), while actor Verne Troyer, for weeks the bookies’ favourite, had to make do with fourth place (15.8% of votes cast at that time). Former singer Ben Adams came fifth with 15.2% of the vote at the time of the first reading. William Hill declared Ulrika’s victory “the biggest shock in reality TV history”.In the studio with Davina McCall, Ulrika said of Big Brother: “It’s singularly the weirdest experience of my entire life and I’ve had quite a weird life.” She revealed that she had not expected to survive the first round of nominations. The mother of four said she understood why some of the housemates had found her bossy: “My husband tells me that all the time. I’m a mother, and I have to organise people so it has to be like that. Sometimes I get told to just stop. It’s hard to switch off, you are a certain way.”
