Emma Crosby to front Channel 5 news | Media | guardian.co.uk: "Former GMTV presenter Emma Crosby is to be the new face of Channel 5's evening news programme previously fronted by Natasha Kaplinsky.
Crosby has signed a two-year deal with Richard Desmond's broadcaster thought to be worth about £200,000 a year.
The presenter made her name on Sky News before switching to GMTV, and most recently presented on the BBC News channel.
Crosby will join Channel 5 on Monday 14 February, when Channel 5 is planning to relaunch its schedule with new on-screen branding and new entertainment show OK! TV replacing Live from Studio 5.
Uncertainty has surrounded the future of Channel 5's news programming, with Desmond said to be keen to introduce more populist bulletins and end the broadcaster's £9m-a-year contract with news provider Sky News a year early.
But Channel 5 said last night that its bulletins would continue to be produced by Sky News and recorded at its headquarters in Isleworth, west London."
