In any event Gervais, who outraged Hollywood stars with his series of put downs, has no plans to back down.
Taking to his blog last night he said he is currently 'pretty sure' he 'shouldn't' do the awards show again.
However he added: 'But I'll tell you this. If they do invite me back and I accept, I'm going to pull exactly the same s*** again or even worse.
